lemslip, her neck

March 20, 2008

weblemslip2.jpgcollection of genius musician, designer and home repair man jonathan hughes. 24 x 24″,  oil and acrylic on board. the title comes from the ultra enjoyable lush soap, and how somehow i could imagine lathering the neck of a canadian goose. why? because amazingly random thoughts enter my mind as i run. it’s very liberating. said geese and i have a turf war going near the niagara river. the geese own that running path. and i’m outnumbered to say the least. so you get fairly close to them as you float by. the texture of that odd long neck is amazing, and almost iridescent in the sun. i wondered what it felt like. the floating hand in the cast is a protected from attack, but still injured. i think the idea of the cast came from winter running and wondering how long i could go without breaking my neck on the ice.
